Hello! I'm Marisa.
My love for photography started as a love for working with children. As an infant/toddler teacher, I was photographing children in my care while their parents were working. I wanted to show the parents how their children were growing and what they were learning. As time went on, photographing the children and printing the images became one of the absolute best parts of my job (nothing tops kid hugs, though). I started studying photography and let that love take over by committing to photographing full-time a little after moving to Central California.
I am never happier than when I'm photographing real moments between families. I am in awe of the immediacy of children's lives and love that I get to be anything from goofy to quiet, depending on the mood.
Every year I work on a unique photography project, and I'm really obsessed with portraits. Some of my previous projects include: children in the visual and performing arts, a Tooth Fairy project, and women and their best friends.
